Watershed Planning and Advisory Councils

Beaver River Watershed Alliance

Water for Life Actions:

  • Establish a Watershed Planning and Advisory Council (WPAC) by 2006-07
  • Complete a watershed management plan by 2009-10

Current Status:

The Beaver River Watershed Alliance (BRWA) became the official Watershed Planning and Advisory Council for the Cold Lake/Beaver River watershed in March 2007. They have established an office in Bonnyville and developed a three-year business plan. They are focusing on development of a groundwater database and assessing aquatic ecosystem health.
